Alan has spent the last 10 year’s involved in all facets of deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting a relatively large campus network at a state university in upstate New York. He started his carrier with several years of concentrating on route-switch, but lately has been deeply involved in design, deployment, and troubleshooting of the campus wireless infrastructure.
One of Alan’s largest projects to date was leading a project that started with an in depth vendor bake off from all of the major WLAN vendors at the time to settle on a vendor to work with for the next 5 to 7 years. Following this selection process, there have been several years of accelerated deployment of new equipment as well as redesigns in buildings to increase capacity and provide more optimal coverage.
In Alan’s spare time, he enjoys bird photography, occasionally playing the cello, and working back stage supporting the technical aspects of live productions.
Alan Wang will join us as a delegate at Mobility Field Day 14 on May 6, 2026!
